Founder & Creator, Sarina Senses

Established by Sarina Verma, Sarina Senses is a dedicated community initiative aimed at nurturing every child's potential through bespoke sensory tools and welcoming environments.

The mission emerged from a deep-rooted passion for supporting youth in navigating anxiety, sensory processing needs, and communication hurdles.

At its core, the project focuses on two key pillars: delivering curated comfort kits and designing interactive sensory pathways in schools and public spaces.

Driven by these principles, Sarina champions the belief that intentional adjustments to a child's setting can radically bolster their self-esteem and overall well-being. It's about making the world a more accessible place for every little learner.

“

I used fidget and sensory tools myself growing up, so I knew firsthand how much they could help. I wanted to take something that helped me personally and turn it into something that could help my community.

That idea became Sarina Senses — two programs, Calming Kits and the Sensory Pathway, both built around the same belief: the right sensory tool, at the right moment, can change how someone feels.

Program 01 — Sensory Pathway

Spaces to move, explore, engage.

Sarina created and assembled sensory pathways at Park Shore School and the Half Hollow Hills Community Library, transforming designated spaces into opportunities for children to move, explore, and engage with sensory activities. The pathways were designed to encourage movement and sensory exploration while making the environment more interactive and welcoming for children. Each activity along the route helps children sharpen their focus, settle their bodies, and feel more grounded and in charge of how they're feeling.

The process

From planning the concept to helping assemble and install the pathways, Sarina was involved in turning an idea into something children could actually experience.

Program 02 — Calming Kits

Not just a bag of supplies.

Sarina thoughtfully designed calming sensory kits to help children manage stress, anxiety, and sensory overload in unfamiliar or overwhelming environments. Each kit includes carefully selected sensory tools, fidgets, and communication resources that encourage self-regulation and provide children with a sense of comfort and control. Sarina designs each kit with the child's individual needs in mind, with the goal of making difficult moments feel a little more manageable.

300+ Kits donated

The process

The goal was never to just fill a bag with supplies — I wanted every kit to feel purposeful. I researched the types of tools that could help, selected materials, organized and assembled each kit myself, and coordinated their donation to hospitals serving children and families.

A closing thought

One kit, one pathway, one person at a time.

Sarina Senses is an independent, one-person project — built kit by kit, and pathway by pathway.
